Arterial Remodeling of the Intracranial Arteries in Patients With Hypertension and Controls

چکیده
The intracranial arteries play a major role in cerebrovascular disease, but arterial remodeling due to hypertension has not been well described humans. We aimed quantify this for: the basilar artery, vertebral, internal carotid, middle/anterior (inferior)/posterior cerebral, posterior communicating, and superior cerebellar of circle Willis. Ex vivo Willis specimens, selected from individuals with (n=24) without (n=25) history hypertension, were imaged at 7T magnetic resonance imaging using 3-dimensional gradient-echo sequence. Subsequently, histological analysis was performed. validated vessel wall thickness area measurements against histology. Next, we investigated potential differences between both groups techniques. Finally, analysis, stiffness atherosclerotic plaque severity load. All analyses unadjusted. Magnetic histology showed comparable (mean difference: 0.04 mm (limits agreement:−0.12 0.19 mm) (0.43 2 [−0.97 1.8 ]) measurements. observed no statistically significant either technique. Histological early advanced plaques almost all for groups. significantly higher carotid artery hypertensive group. Concluding, did observe thickening Using difference composition artery.

The Importance of Electrocardiography in Pediatric Patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Follow- up
Background: Right Ventricular (RV) hypertrophy is an adaptive response to chronic RV pressure overload in patients with pulmonary hypertension. We investigated the relationships between RV hypertrophy indicators, including electrocardiography, the percentage oxygen saturation (SaO2%), body mass index (BMI), and blood uric acid levels in patients with...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Preliminary studies suggest that intracranial arteries are capable of accommodating plaque formation by remodeling. We sought to study the ability and extent of intracranial arteries to remodel using 3-dimensional high-resolution black blood magnetic resonance imaging and investigate its relation to ischemic events. METHODS Forty-two patients with cerebrovascular ischem...
